In grammar, voice refers to the form of a verb that show whether the subject of a sentence perform the action (the active voice) or is affected by is (the passive voice).
Nikhil wrote a letter – A letter was written by Nikhil.
How to passive an active voice sentence:
Rule 1 – Put the object in the place of the subject and the subject in the place of the object.
Active – Nikhil wrote a letter
Passive – A letter was written by Nikhil
Rule 2 – According to the tense and the subject convert the given verb into its past particle form as shown in the examples below –

Note – Ignore following unimportant subject during passive voice – like – someone, somebody, everyone, everybody, none, nobody, anyone, anybody, none, we the people, all of them, all people, all etc.
Eg. – They repair mobiles here.
Passive – Mobiles are repaired here
Modals in Passive voice
Sub + modal + vI + object
Passive – object + modal + be + vIII + agent
Eg. – Sonu can do dance
Sub modal verb I object
Passive- Dance can be done by Sonu
Ob as sub modal vIII sub as ob
Passive voice of Phrasal Verbs:
Eg. A bus ran over the bitch.
P. Voice – The bitch was run over by a bus.
A – vI + object
B – Don’t + vI + ob.
Passive – (A) – Let + ob + be + vIII
(B) – Let + ob + not + be + vIII
Eg. – Do it
Passive – let it be done.
Eg. – Do not touch me.
Passive – Let I not be touched.
Emotion or Exclamatory Sentences
A.V. – Bravo! They had won a match.
P. Voice – Bravo! The match had been won (by them)
Passive Voice in case of Quasi – Passive Verbs:
Eg. Mango Tastes Sweet
Passive – Mango is sweet when it is tasted.
